Newman, Crayton and Stanback have surgeries
Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman and receiver Patrick Crayton had arthroscopic ankle surgeries Tuesday to remove bone spurs. Also, receiver/kick returner Isaiah Stanback had shoulder surgery last week.
Newman battled a groin/abdominal injury this season that forced him to have sports hernia surgery on Oct. 10 and missed five consecutive games in the middle of the season. Still, Newman returned for the final seven games and had a team-high four interceptions. Newman was slowed by the injured ankle in the loss to the Eagles.
Stanback suffered a dislocated shoulder during preseason but elected to wait until after the season to have surgery. He was placed on injured reserve in the final week of the regular season. It's also the same left shoulder that required surgery last year.
