BARACK OBAMA SAYS HE'S ASSEMBLED THE BEST BASKETBALL-PLAYING CABINET IN U.S. HISTORY
If you've been keeping an eye on BARACK OBAMA'S Cabinet appointments, you might know that yesterday he chose 44-year-old Arne Duncan as his Secretary of Education.
Anyway, during the announcement, Obama said, "I just want to dispel one rumor . . . I did not select Arne because he's one of the best basketball players I know.
"Although I will say that I think we're putting together the best basketball-playing Cabinet in American history. And I think that's worth noting."
So is Obama right? Probably. Check it out . . .
#1.) Arne Duncan, who is six-feet five-inches tall, was co-captain of Harvard's basketball team in the '80s . . . and he played pro ball in Australia from '87 to '91.
#2.) James Jones . . . who Obama chose as his new National Security Adviser . . . is six-feet four-inches tall and played forward for Georgetown in the '60s.
#3.) Eric Holder . . . who's Obama's nominee for Attorney General . . . co-captained his high school basketball team and played a year of college ball for Columbia University in the '70s.
#4.) Susan Rice . . . who is Obama's nominee for Ambassador to the United Nations . . . played point guard on her high school basketball team.
#5.) And even though it's not a Cabinet position, Paul Volcker . . . who Obama chose as chairman of his Economic Recovery Advisory Board . . . is six-feet seven-inches tall and played basketball for Princeton in the '40s. (Daily Telegraph)
