First they gave us Al Gore, Barney Frank, Bill Mahrer, then Howard Dean, and now we get a TRUE class act in American Politics... AL FRANKEN! Here's just a taste of the things that Mr. Franken will bring to our fine Government... New Sen. Al Franken got his first laugh in the Senate this afternoon. The former comedian sat quietly through nearly three full days before finally getting to ask questions at the Sotomayor hearing. At the end, he asked her if she remembered the name of the one case that TV lawyer Perry Mason lost. Sotomayor said the show inspired her to become a prosecutor, but "I wish I remembered the name of the episode." "Didn't the White House prepare you?" Franken asked, to laughter from the committee, nominee and crowd. "Yes, but I had a lot of cases to review," Sotomayor said. Chairman Leahy then asked Franken what the name of the episode was. "I don't know. If I knew I wouldn't have asked her." We checked. It's "The Case of the Deadly Verdict." ---------------------------------------- Gee, what's next. A stand up routine featuring Nancy Peolsi and Barbara Boxer ? After that the Dems will trot out Frank Caliendo to do GW impressions and then finish up with questions asked by Artie Lange! This whole hearing is a joke. She's in, why waste the tax payers money and if Al Franken has to be his normal moronic self, can he at least be FUNNY???

why? ask the GOP! they are the ones demanding this dog and pony show, even while saying it made no difference. as to Franken, he is smarter than most of the jack@$$'s up there already (regardless of party)! let us not forget to mention the GOP counterparts of Reagan and Arnold!! Ronnie was heckled beyond belief upon entering politics and won respect before it was all over (earned or not is another conversation). if Franken has such success we will revisit this conversation for sure!!

He'll have "Success" because the mainstream media will love him and find him hilarious! He'll have a political career like Jesse Ventura, he'll write a few books, play politics for a few years then return to his "Comedy" life. He'll be a footnote in History like all egomaniacs who strive for attention but have no real ability to create positive change. He's doing it so he can say "He did it!".
IF Mike Ditka had "Played Politics" as a hobby like Franken, one Barrack Hussien Obama would still be in Illinois being unheard of!
Awww Iron Mike, if only....

he has not been a comedian by trade for many years and his most recent work before politics was as a political pundit on Air America. not that this really matters but i would like to point out that he is alot more qualified than Harriet Myers was when she was nominated by GWB for the SCOTUS and WAY more that Mike Brown was when he was tapped to lead FEMA (he oversaw the Katrina fiasco for GWB). i really think you are drinking the hateraide on this one bro!
