The Dallas Morning News reports over the next three years, Cowboys WR Roy Williams will collect $27 million in salary and bonuses, but the full amount of his $45 million extension is not guaranteed until April 2, 2009.
The Cowboys can cut Williams before that date because of diminishing skills and owe him $13.5 million. He would receive $27 million even if he were to suffer a career-ending injury this season. Williams will make $391,471 this season with base salaries of $3.655 million, $3.452 million, $5.109 million, $6.802 million, $8.498 million and $9 million from 2009-14.
The last year of the contract will be voided provided he is on the roster on the final day of the league year in 2013. He will receive bonuses of $10 million and $9.5 million in March 2009 and 2010.

Im not very concerned about the contract Williams recieved. I think he is a very talented YOUNG WR and thats something we have been missing. I don't think Jerry gave up too much for him. Jerry's biggest mistake was not addressing the back up qb situation in the offseason

Jerry should also have used at least one of those extra draft choices to add seconday help before the trade deadline. This pass defense has been a thorn in the side and relying on Pacman has come back to bite Jerry in the butt. That pass rush better come alive Sunday .

I have no problem with the contract, and I also don't see a problem with giving up the number one. I have more problems with the way we play our young dbs then feeling we need to have to add a new one. I understand the SS we signed, was going to be a starter but got busted for a dui. If he has the talent to start, maybe he could make a impact for us the second half of the season. ( just take away his car keys! ;D) Just Once I would like our coaching staff to get more out of the talent we have vs ALWAYS having to upgrade talent at every position to sure up weaknesses. We haven't had that kind of coach since Jimmy Johnson. Parcells use to be able to do it with the giants and the jets, but the time he got here, he had lost it! Prossman
