Austin’s Season Keeps Looking Better Posted by nickeatman truebluefanclub.com
It seems like every single week, Miles Austin is moving up some kind of list, or he’s distancing himself from another elite group.
Not only does he have a touchdown in four straight games, but he’s upped his season total to 11, which currently has him tied for the NFL lead with two other players (Larry Fitzgerald and Vernon Davis).
But looking through the years of Cowboys receivers, 11 touchdowns is just mind-boggling, considering it’s his first year to start, and that he didn’t crack the starting lineup until the fifth game.
Since 1970, only one player in club history has 11 touchdowns catch in a year. Yes, Terrell Owens did twice in 2006 and 2007 with 15 and 13 scores, respectively.
But in 40 seasons of Cowboys football, it’s only T.O. and Miles Austin. That’s crazy when you think of Drew Pearson, Tony Hill, Michael Irvin, Jay Novacek, Joey Galloway, Rocket Ismail and Terry Glenn have rolled through here.
In that first decade of the Cowboys, Lance Rentzel, Frank Clarke and Bob Hayes each had more than 11 in a season.

Already, Austin has replaced all that was lost in TO, and added quite a bit more...for one thing, after this season, a Pro Bowl appearance for sure!
