running back added to practice squad
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This isn’t the roster move you’ve all been waiting (and probably hoping) for, but the Cowboys have made at least one transaction on Monday, signing running back Herb Donaldson to the practice squad.
Donaldson, a rookie from Western Illinois, where he was a teammate of Cowboys’ rookie linebacker Jason Williams, signed with the Saints after the draft. He was cut at the end of the preseason and spent some time on the Saints practice squad.
Leading all Division I runners in 2008, Donaldson rushed for 1,784 yards and 21 touchdowns, en route to being named FCS first-team All-American.
Donaldson replaces the spot vacated by Chauncey Washington, who signed with the Jets last week .

Productive college back who averaged over 5 yards a carry, but limited athleticism, not much speed (4.55 or so) with no second gear, not a receiving threat, not a FB type at 5'10 1/2" 225. Looks like a JAG.

For anyone to get that much yardage he must be able to find the hole and hit it.
