ARLINGTON — Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips is in the final year of his contract.
The club has an option to bring him back next year, if owner Jerry Jones desires.
So there is no doubt Phillips' future in Dallas is on the line as the Cowboys prepare for the final five games of the season.
Jones, who has been noncommittal on Phillips for much of the season, acknowledged as much on Wednesday at Cowboys Stadium, where the team practiced because of inclement weather.
Phillips has the Cowboys (8-3) atop the NFC East. He is 30-14 in three years in Dallas. But the Cowboys are 3-6 in December and January under Phillips.
Jones also offered up a scenario in which Phillips could possibly keep his job -- short of a Super Bowl berth.
"When you are in coaching there is a lot of pressure to win," Jones said. "That is there. What we do here? How we get into these playoffs? If we can get in with an advantage and if we can have a game, if we can get a bye. All of those are things that look good for Wade."

The only thing that is guaranteed, there will another schedule released in early spring.
Its time to shut up, & just play football. Just like, The Giants did a few years ago.
