In the off-season I was all for Jerry bringing in Adam "Pacman" Jones!
I thought...
Why not!
"Tank" has been a good boy! We have Calvin Hill in place, Deion has taken Pac under his wing, Michael Irvin even was on his shoulder playing a tiny Angel whispering in his ear to behave, and NOBODY could POSSIBLY screw up a "Last Chance" opportunity!
Right???
WRONG!!!
Some people just never get it!
OR...
They just get it too late!
In this case, Adam has had "One chance too many" in my humble opinion!
We just had a great team win. The LAST thing this team needs is another "Me" type of player!
Mr. Jones gave Adam Jones his shot, and he blew it!
Now maybe Adam does have a drinking problem. And maybe he is seriously getting help. I applaud the effort (Even though the "Effort" was league mandated!).
But to me, we rolled the dice once and crapped out!
Now it's time to move on and let the draft picks learn their craft!
So Mr. Jones, please o' please let Pacman move on!
I hear the Raiders have a spot open!

Eric, I don't disagree at all with your feelings...only with the outcome of applying them.
We live in a country that is based upon the fair conduct of laws, and not the manipulation of base elements involved in judicial punishment. This keeps things in the arena of a democracy and not oligarchy or dictatorial powers.
At law, when the culpability and thus, criminal aspects are considered concerning punishments, it involves the magnitude of the specific actions theirselves.
His last 'miscue' would not even have raised a blimp on the horizon of any other person in the country, had not it met the media franticly trying to find such a storyline. It like all other stories in or around the Cowboy organization itself, is blown out of proportion. Hate him as a boy becoming a man if one must, but give him HIS due process in the meantime. For his immediate 'crime', and here, I can't even classify what occured in that light, he has already paid the league related issue for dimming the 'already high image' of the NFL. Come on now, people are using Jones at this point, as their own self serving whipping boy.
Stand by a general set of standards for ALL players and apply them EQUALLY. Kind of like parking tickets, some people have hundreds, yet never have them accumulate towards federal level of repetitive types of punishment possibilities. Same with lesser level 'criminal' types of actions. The bathroom incident NEVER entered the public scale even for a misdemeanor. Who are the NFL trying to be anyway? People are trying to punish Adam Jones more for being around trouble than what is happening to Michael Vick who waltzed right through the middle of major criminality and intents. True, he was around a major crime, but how many of US could be thrown into that same consideration in civilian life, just by being in similar local, but without the public association and people trying to associate to you by just being there at the scene of a major crime.
Anyone here been at a club or bar, when someone who YOU knew suddenly came up with a knife or weapon? Often this doesn't even have to be known, yet, Adam Jones automatically was guilty because of that same situation...and for many, that association NEVER ends....
This brings up my second consideration with this matter. Myself, I believe in a person's inherent principal to set his OWN storyline straight and to be given the chance to overcome social stigma to make his OWN life whole again. I believe in making a person's view of himself whole at some point. This means judicial as well as wise application of punitive authority. Solomon was known for such insights, but we as people should know that human feelings and an ability to succeed in one's own eyes is major. I want to see a man, who has become a part of the team that I love dearly, succeed both on and off the field. The return of Adam Jones would mean at least that principal would have been protected.
If we were dealing with aspects of social danger, where HE was the one with the weapon and using the drugs involved, there would be NO question-cut him out of the NFL. He actually has been hard at work now, for two years....TRYING to be socially responsible. Let him play some football now!!
After paying his social prices...coulda, woulda, shoulda's don't count as actual evidence for FURTHER punishments...my thoughts.
