(CNN) – Brushing off suggestions Tuesday the media is not critical enough of his administration, President Obama couldn't help but take aim at one cable news channel in particular.
"It's very hard for me to swallow that one," Obama told CNBC when asked whether he thinks the media is too easy on him. "First of all, I've got one television station entirely devoted to attacking my administration."
The interviewer quickly assumed Obama was referring to Fox News, a suggestion the president didn't disagree with.
"Well, that's a pretty big megaphone," he said. "And you'd be hard-pressed, if you watched the entire day, to find a positive story about me on that front."
"We welcome people who are asking us some, you know, tough questions," he continued. "And I think that I've been probably as accessible as any president in the first six months–press conferences, taking questions from reporters, being held accountable, being transparent about what it is that we're trying to do. I think that, actually, the reason that people have been generally positive about what we've tried to do is they feel as if I'm available and willing to answer questions, and we haven't been trying to hide them all. "
Obama struck a similar tone on the matter last month in his appearance before the White House Correspondents Dinner, during which he joked to the crowd, "Most of you covered me; all of you voted for me, apologies to the Fox table."

don't hold you breath rush jr. record approval ratings say it all what's the approval rating of your guy? I think his approval rating right now should not be taken too serious. I want to see what it is at the begining of yr 4. I want to see what happens once his realy tax plan goes into effect and everyone is paying taxes at the end of the year.

that hope does not change the fact that the american public rejected your ideas about how things ought to be run in a major way and no matter how his term ends your guys are still not coming up with any new or creative ideas, all you/they are doing is hating on the ideas that are being implemented. it is easy to hate, but when you already proved you can not do the job effectively i guess that is all you have left!!!

Same thing can be said about your guys. I mean really what have they done besides spend more money? Lets get real and say niether side has the answers. Im not as hard core right as you may think because I do believe in services to help the poor. But I think the system is screwed up when its required for someone to get rid of a car to get help. The current system is set up to keep you down not help you up. If it weren't for family a few years ago who knows where Kim and I would be today. We sure didn't get any help from the system

Obama keeps going after Fox News? Obama has the rest of the media outlets fawning over him. Chris Matthews gets a tingle up his leg every time he hears him speak. Or, what about Evan Thomas calling Obama, "God?" newsbusters.org/blogs/kyle-drennen/2009/06/05/newsweek-s-evan-thomas-obama-sort-godNewsweek’s Evan Thomas: Obama Is ‘Sort of God’ Photo of Kyle Drennen. the networks letting the prez speak is customary and to make it a political issue is a reach! i agree the media should be watchdogs just because you do not like what they are saying does not mean they are wrong or showing preference

the word god is not above being used as metaphor! in the sense they commented on, he was not incorrect you may not agree with the metaphor but to cast any negative light on Obama for it is preposterous
