The Wade Phillips team of 2008, play both soft and stupid week in and week out. I will give our defense a break with the constant 3 and outs, and the 3 yards passes on 3- 10yd + is very disheartening on a game in game out basis. Dallas is leading the NFL in something......penalties, that's where the stupid part comes in. Dallas was out manned vs the giants so they needed to play fundamentally solid mistake free football, and make a few breaks for themselves for the win. They did make the breaks for themselves, but had costly interceptions, and horribly timed penalties that killed us in the end. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My problem with the Wade Phillips Cowboys in the lack of self discipline and toughness. We have to have 99% of our talent in place to win, because our players get no kick in the @ss from the coaching staff. Should Jerry fire Wade and Step in himself? Could it really go any worse? I still say I would pull the trigger on Cower today if he would come. Because the way this team is playing so undisciplined , even if we did make the playoffs, it is hard to imagine Dallas going very far. Then again, we do have the by week, and will be at full strength, at minimum 2 weeks after the bye. So I don't want to sound pessimistic, the returning players could go on a roll and win out the season. With me , I can take losing but to lose because you are playing sloppy and stupid is uncalled for. Prossman

The Defense was put in a bad spot... BUT... The Offisides penalties were early in the game and those killed. The tackling on the team is hideous! And the run Defense disappeared in the 2nd half. I agree the pathetic Offense is mostly to blame! BUT... I think the heart was gone. After Brooks hit T.O. for the TD the D' laid a turd bomb. D-Ware missed 3 tackles on the Giants next drive , Zach missed, Hamlin (Mr. yeller) missed 5 tackles in the game and where was Tank, Ratliff and Spears??? Granted it's hard to play 4 qtrs od Defense when your Offense is sludge. But Brooks put together a nice scoring drive to cut the G-Mens' lead to 14! The person I am most upset with (Besides Uncle Wade) is Jason Garrett. The guy is B-O-R-I-N-G! On the TD drive late we ran the same 3 plays...IN A ROW! 2 by Choice, one by Barber that was blown up. On that play why not a play fake? a flea flicker? Something besides a THIRD run out of the shotgun! AND... Roy Williams makes a one-handed circus catch (No P.I. flag BTW on the hold job on his left hand) and how many more passes come RW's way? ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!! Instead we use Patrick "short armin' it" Crayton who shows ZERO effort unless it's a wide open pass (And we know how often Mr Crayton gets "Wide open"! LOL!) Bennett played well, Barber gave 100% as always! I just wonder what the outcome might have been if Bollinger had gone in after the Eli fumble?

Eric, I wish that I had a magical wand and could wave it to make all again well, as in the land before the season actually started. Lol, I can't...
There are enough soldiers on this team, that if they were 'LEAD' through the process, would be ready for each and every game. They are NOT lead. Wade Phillips has shown himself a general who sends all of his troops to the front, and then forgets to provide them ammunition after their frist clip has been extinguished...
First off, I don't care how much 'veteran dignity' that was saved by NOT benching Johnson. He showed exactly what he has shown for the past TWO years....zero arm strength and zero leadership abilities once on the carpet. If the Cowboys want to dignify his character next time, just bronze a statue, and leave him at HOME!!
You make the logical and BEST choice giving heart and ability in the hands of the players....FIRST. Not when you had no chance of gaining on a superior and proven team. This team was set up for failure from it's start. Then, they were NOT prepared and disciplined for execution throughout the game. They fell apart due to non-reinforced habits that demand execution. Non practicing players don't get hurt, but SOFT play generates as many injuries as the top and black 'n blue play creates, but without the elevating aspect of play. Club Marshmellow has arrived full circle and bit the Cowboys in their posteriors.
Tough hits and accountability can be 'edited' into a game film to show a loftier level...kind of like all of our expectations prior to things getting tough. This team may or may not get tough from here on out...but one thing is for sure, NOTHING is added by Wade being in denial. For that fact, Jerry should be agitated as the GM as well. They BOTH blew this quality gamble, and may have just lost yet another WHOLE season in the process. Romo better be the best in the NFL, from here on out. There is ZERO adaptation time left. But, based upon PROVEN records here, they don't have the discipline to apply learned lessons of war...

Question Wade Phillips " with all your concern for veteran dignity, where is their dignity now that they have grossly underachieving AND the laughing stock of the NFL?" Wades unwillingness to pull the trigger on allot of things but most importantly personnel decisions had destroyed the confidence of this team. Is a healthy Doug free better than a Flozell who could feel his left arm 3 weeks ago and hasn't been able to raise his hands over his head since? is it OK to allow the cowboys to get destroyed sticking with brad Johnson who clearly lost it? Didn't we know this already? At least brooks showed a little zip on the ball after he calmed down. If proctor is getting caved in on a routine basis, why not put Mcquistan in? He is bigger and doesn't get overpowered easily. One thing after another. Make a Move, for Pete's sake. Pull the frigging trigger. Prossman
