Drew had one good year at Michigan, even keeping tom Brady on the bench before he opted for MLB's New York Yankees. He got land blasted after he finally did get his shot and left the big leagues to pursue his dream in the NFL. I believe we traded a 3rd round pick and signed him to a seven year 7 million dollar deal, for the strong armed prospect. There was very high hopes that Dallas had finally found the QB of the future, and initially it looked like a very good move. Also on the team was a young gun slinger named Tony Romo, and so the debate ensued,Was Romo or Henson was the qf of the future. Romo always seemed to be on the verge of getting cut, Dallas kept bringing in qbs but Tony outlasted those already here and new qbs. Henson really looked like the real deal, a big arm, confidence, and unlimited potential, or so it seemed. Romo seemed undisciplined , in a Brett farve kind of way. Although back then no one was going to put the label the next Brett farve on Romo. Not at that point in the game.

We cowboy fans were reeling over the heartbreak factor that Vinny testaverde brought to every game he played, and got hurt. Drew Henson stepped in a had a good half. He was impressive enough were many were calling for him to get a shot at starting. We were rebuilding and the argument was why not get him the experience. Bill parcells would have none of that and Henson was kept on the bench, as Vinny came back the next week.

Henson later was sent to the NFL Europe which he played OK 55% completion ration and threw more tds than ints but got hurt mid season. That was the last we really saw from Henson. Romo emerged and Henson faded out of the NFL. I saw he was a back up on a team or two. Had a tryout this year only to get cut.

I personally was High on drew Henson. I wonder to this day if things were handled differently would he had turned out differently. I wonder if he had had the chance to grow and develop like Romo had, could he have become a player in the NFL.
Romos advantage was he was a free agent, and Henson had a number 3 and a 7 mill contract over his head that forced him to make or break. Anyway....Prossman
