T.O.'s Future No Foregone Conclusion Posted by jellis at 2/11/2009 2:24 PM CST on truebluefanclub.com
Judging by a couple articles around the net this week, you would think it's just a matter of time before the Cowboys release receiver Terrell Owens.
But despite the fact the people who have said as much are pretty well connected around the league, it's still speculation at this point. Sports Illustrated's Peter King, who basically guaranteed Owens would be gone, said as much today on Michael Irvin's radio show (ESPN 103.3-FM), admitting he doesn't know what Jerry Jones will do, but figures the only logical conclusion the owner/GM can come to is to part ways with Owens.
That's not the attitude Jones seemed to have last week, when he was saying all the Cowboys locker room turmoil is a symptom of losing. The owner was pretty adamant about his feelings in that regard, and that's supposed to be the big reason to get rid of T.O., right?
As we've laid out here time and again, and you're surely aware by now, the decision whether to bring T.O. back or not is a doozy. Until we hear something different from Jones, it's awfully hard to predict.
